Welcome to 2014

The new year has arrived and with it comes new inspiration and ideas. Mint has been a popular color choice for brides getting married in 2014. Mint provides a neutral backdrop that can work with a variety of different accent colors. Mint and blush pink along with coral accents has been the most popular color request I’ve heard from my upcoming brides. My last wedding of 2013 was a beautiful event at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville, NC. The bride, Rachel, was ahead of the trend and chose a beautiful mint green dress for her bridesmaids to wear.  Her flowers were shades of ivory, blush, pink, and coral.  The soft shades were beautiful against soft color of the dresses and perfect for a romantic winter wedding. The bride requested that her bouquet be a bit “messy” and I achieved that look by using silver dollar eucalyptus to pop out from the flowers and create an “undone” effect. The bouquets were made of hydrangea, roses, and peonies with baby’s breath accents. The bride and her friends created their own centerpieces- winter branches coming out from white hydrangea blooms- simple yet dramatic and beautiful.
